Istanbul (autosport.com)-Rio Haryanto took a straightforward win in today's GP3 Series sprint race at Istanbul.

The Manor driver started the reversed-grid race from pole ahead of MW Arden's Miki Monras and held his advantage over the Spaniard into the first corner.

Haryanto opened an initial gap of 0.8 seconds in the opening couple of laps and gradually built upon it, posting his quickest times late in the race to secure a winning margin of 2.2s.

Monras had an uneventful run to second, with ART's Alexander Rossi completing the podium after passing the Jenzer Motorsport car of Nico Muller for third at Turn 1 midway through the race.

Daniel Morad (Status) and Felipe Guimaraes (Addax) had equally routine runs to fifth and sixth, although the latter was spared from having to defend race one winner Esteban Gutierrez (ART) over the final laps when the Mexican overcooked it on the exit of Turn 8 and lost 1.5s.
