Metallica Konser di Jakarta 25 Agustus 2013

Jakarta (Djakarta News)- Sebelumnya terpetik kabar Metallica akan konser di Jakarta tahun ini. Memang benar! Akhirnya Metallica menjadwalkan konsernya pada tanggal 25 Agustus 2013 di Jakarta seperti diberitakan di situs resminya (5/7/2013).

 "Agustus akan menjadi bulan yang unik dan menyenangkan dalam perjalanan tur kami, kami senang bisa kembali ke jakarta, akan menjadi konser kedua kami di Indonesia. Lebih dari 20 tahun menunggu, waktu yang lama, dan kami akan menggelar konser di Stadion Gelora Bung Karno pada 25 Agustus 2013".

Tiket mulai dijual tanggal 8 Juli 2013 melalui sistem online di www.blackboxtix.com jam 10.00 pagi dan offline jam 11.00 pagi.

Sebelum konser di Jakarta, terlebih dahulu Metallica menggelar konser di Singapore Changi Exhibition Center pada tanggal 24 Agustus 2013.

Indonesians Despair Over Hollywood Boycott

Jakarta (Djakarta News - JakartaGlobe) -Indonesian movie lovers are being starved of the latest Hollywood blockbusters by a drawn-out tax dispute which has led United States studios to boycott the country in protest.

Since the Motion Picture Association (MPA) stopped distributing films to Indonesia in February, cinema takings have tumbled as theatres try to fill the gap with local fare and B-grade foreign films dug out of the rejects bin.

Everyone is losing except the sellers of pirated DVDs, who are enjoying a spike in sales.

“Customers are looking for titles like ‘Fast Five’, ‘Black Swan’ and ‘Thor’ because they can’t watch them in the cinema,” said DVD pirate Yani.

“They complain that my videos are low quality and they wouldn’t watch them if they had a choice. But I can’t complain, business is good.” She said sales had jumped 50 percent since the MPA took the drastic step of cutting off supplies of new Hollywood releases to Indonesian theatres earlier this year.

Meanwhile cinemas are almost empty. One of Jakarta’s biggest theatres is showing “Elite Squad”, a Portuguese film from 2007, and “My Sassy Girl”, from 2008. The newest US offering is “Source Code”, released last year.

Indonesian Cinema Companies Union head Djonny Sjafruddin said about half of all movies screened in Indonesia — or about 130 films a year — were imported from the MPA, representing US studios including Warner Bros, Universal Studios and Twentieth Century Fox.

“Money-wise, that translates to 60 to 70 percent of total income of cinemas here,” said Sjafruddin, whose union represents 240 cinemas nationwide.

“The MPA’s move has clearly hurt us. We’ve reduced daily screenings from five to four and stopped midnight and weekend screenings. If this problem isn’t solved, we may all have to shut down.”

The studios are reportedly disputing a 22.5 percent tax introduced in June last year on royalties they receive from the distribution of their films in Indonesia.

“The MPA felt it was unjustified. The government said it would resolve the issue but it’s taking too long,” Sjafruddin said.

Culture and tourism ministry official Ukus Kuswara said the government and MPA had negotiated a “win-win solution”. He refused however to reveal any of the details, and in the meantime the movies are still not being distributed.

“Let’s just say it’s not about the tax figure, but the imposition mechanism. There’s a difference in perception but that’s been sorted out now,” he said, adding that US box-office hits would return to Indonesian screens soon.

The ministry’s film department director, Syamsul Lussa, drew fire from frustrated film lovers last week for attending the Cannes Film Festival in France instead of staying to sort out the mess at home.

Many wondered sarcastically if he had enjoyed the Hollywood films screened at the prestigious event.

Since the boycott, Indonesians have missed out on Natalie Portman’s Oscar-winning performance in “Black Swan”, as well as “True Grit”, “127 Hours”, “Thor” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”, among others.

Worse may be yet to come, with “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” also likely to be axed, Sjafrudin said.

“We lose money and the public are denied their entertainment. Everyone’s angry,” he said.

A visit to two cinemas in Jakarta last week found fewer than a dozen people buying tickets for “The New Daughter” and “Kung Fu Kid”, both released in 2009.

“I thought the bigger cinemas would be showing new movies but everything’s so old. I’m so upset,” said disappointed customer Nenny Triyana, 30.

Irene Ibrahim, 25, said she felt embarrassed for Indonesia.

“My friend in Bahrain posted on her Facebook wall raving about “Thor” and I’m here in Indonesia watching the trailer on YouTube. How pathetic,” she said.

“The whole world is at film ‘A’ and we’re at ‘Z’. I don’t care what disagreement they have. All I know is that as a movie fan, I’m left with no choice but to watch bad movies which give me bad migraines.”

One cinema manager in Jakarta, who declined to be named, said staff were bearing the brunt of customers’ frustrations.

“They have yelled at us asking if this means they have to go to Singapore or Australia just to watch a movie,” he said.

Indonesia’s blogosphere, meanwhile, is seething.

“The absence of Hollywood movies is an epic fail in this country,” said one blogger, Rizky Danurwindo.

Film Festival "Australia on Screen" 2011 being held in Jakarta

Jakarta (Djakarta News-ANTARA News) - Celebrated Indonesian actress and producer Christine Hakim and Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Greg Moriarty launched the latest Australian Embassy Film Festival Australia on Screen 2011 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

A media release from Australian Embassy on its official website said Moriarty was delighted they were able to celebrate Australia Day with the launch of such an exciting line-up of Australian films, demonstrating Australia`s cultural and artistic innovation and talent.

"It is a great honor to also acknowledge Christine Hakim being recently awarded the APSA 2010 FIAPF Award for Outstanding Achievement in Film at the recent Asia Pacific Screen Awards Ceremony in Australia. The award was a fitting reminder of the exceptional work and progress she has achieved over the years in Indonesian film," Moriarty said.

Held at Blitzmegaplex, Grand Indonesia from January 26-28, 2011, the Festival features award-winning Australian films that present film reflecting the country`s unique blend of established Indigenous traditions and new influences.

Opening with the internationally acclaimed Bran Nue Dae, loosely based on the musical with the same name and directed by prominent Australian director Rachel Perkins and producers Robyn Kershaw and Graeme Isaac, the star studded cast includes among others, renowned singer Jessica Mauboy, Academy Award winner Geoffrey Rush and Indigenous Australian actor Rocky McKenzie.

Robyn Kershaw and Rocky McKenzie have both been hosted by the Australian Embassy and the West Australian Government to come to Indonesia to promote Bran Nue Dae and the film festival.

Rolland Band [Judas Priest Lokal]

(Jogjatmosphere)-Tidak hanya di Jakarta, grup musik cadas berada. Rolland Band merupakan grup musik rock era tahun 90an yang bermarkas di Yogyakarta. Saat itu group ini beralamat di Jl. Wakhid Hasyim No.119 Yogyakarta. Dari gayanya bisa dibilang grup ini Judas Priestnya Indonesia. Tidak kalah dengan gayanya, lagu-lagunyapun bernuansa ala Judas Priest seperti lagu yang berjudul Teror.

Mungkin banyak orang tidak mengenal grup ini. Padahal saat itu grup ini sangat menjanjikan. Dengan suara lengkingan vokalisnya seperti dalam lagu “Roda Kehidupan” sungguh ngerock banget band ini.

Rolland Band dengan mengusung musik Heavy metal pernah menjadi juara pertama sekaligus berpenampilan terbaik dalam festival heavy Metal yang diselenggrakan oleh sebuah majalah musik ibukota (majalah Vista), Jakarta 1986. Satu-satunya band daerah yang dengan gemilang sanggup berbicara banyak disetiap jelajah panggungnya.

Ketika itu mereka mengungguli Slank (Jakarta) yang hanya berhasil merebut juara harapan III. Kini, Kaka dkk (Slank) kini sudah "merajai" mainstream musik cadas dan makin kokoh di ladang industri musik Indonesia.

Ini lah yang membuat Billboard memberi kesempatan untuk album perdana berjudul "Gigolo".

Rolland terdiri dari Petrus S., – (Vocalis), Ivan S., Bento Jepang –( Lead Guitar), Lugudz Nugroho – (Bass/Vocal), dan Yoyok – (Drum). Beberapa lagu seperti "Gigolo", "Teror", dan "Percakapan Satu Kamar", bisa diterima publik karena familier di telinga, bahkan bagi kalangan awam sekalipun.

Sayang, karena masalah internal, Rolland Band pun bubar pada pertengahan 1989. Kenyataan pahit itu, memaksa para personelnya harus mencari jalan hidup sendiri-sendiri. salah satunya dengan terbentuknya band Rolander.

Slash: Jakarta was brilliant!

Jakarta (Djakarta News)- Jakarta was brilliant! This tour of Asia just gets better & better. Cant wait to see what Kuala Lumpur has in store! iiiil ; ), demikian kutipan dari Slash melalui akun Twitternya, setelah menyelesaikan konsernya di Istora Jakarta 3 Agustus 2010.. Memang penantian yang lama selama 25 tahun sejak Slash masih bergabung dengan Guns’n Roses.

Konser Slash dibuka dengan lagu Gost, Mean Bone, Night Train, Dirty Little Thing yang merupakan lagu-lagu Slash dari albumnya bersama Slash Snakepitt dan Velvet Revolver.

Penampilan dan aksi slash sangat atraktif, demikian juga Kennedy, sang vokal juga layak mendapatkan pujian karena karakter vokal yang mirip dengan vokalis Gun n Roses, membuat penonton berteriak histeris dan bernyanyi bersama.

Konser Slash di Jakarta sangat memanjakan para fans dengan sederet karya musikal seperti Night Train, Dirty Little Thing, Civil War, dan Watch This Slash. Suasana semakin panas saat Slash memainkan lagu legendaris 'Sweet Child O Mine'. Konser ditutup dengan lagu dari Guns N Roses yang berjudul Pardise City.

Lawatan konser Slash di Indonesia ini ditujukan untuk mempromosikan album solo perdana mereka 'Slash.'

Slash Live at Jakarta

(Djakarta News)-Tanggal 3 Agustus 2010 nanti, kalau tidak ada perubahan seperti diberitakan di situs mahakaentertainment.com, Mahaka Entertainment sebagai promotor akan menampilkan Slash eks guitarist Guns N’ Roses, yang sekarang guitarist Velvet Revolver. Menurut jadwal Slash akan tampil di Istora Senayan Jakarta. Ini mungkin menjadi kabar gembira bagi penggemar musik rock terutama gitaris rock di Indonesia.

Dalam konsernya di Jakarta Slash akan mengajak personil band  Myles Kennedy  (vokal), Bobby schneck (Rhytm Gitar), Todd Kerns (Bass) dan Brent Fitz (Drum). Slash akan membawakan lagu-lagu dari Guns N’ Roses, Slash Snakepit dan Velvet Revolver.

Guns N’ Roses sangat dikenal pecinta musik rock di Indonesia sekitar akhir tahun 1980an sampai awal 1990an. November Rain muncul sebagai lagu hard Rock ala G n’R yang begitu indah pada saat itu, dan Sweet Child O’ Mine dengan cirikas suara gitar Slash. Sayang Guns N’ Roses telah bubar dan hanya menyisakan sang vokalis Axl Rose.

Velvet Revolver sendiri beranggotakan 3 mantan personil Guns N’ Roses yaitu Slash (lead guitar), Duff Mc Kagan (bassis), Matt Sorum (drum) dan dengan 2 tambahan mantan personil band lainnya Scot Weiland sebagai vocalist (eks Stone Temple Pilots) dan mantan guitarist Wasted Youth, Dave Kushner.

Pihak promotor, Mahaka Entertaiment  mempersiapkan kejutan bagi para 100 orang pertama pembeli tiket konser ini yaitu berupa Mystery Ticket yang dibanderol dengan harga 200 ribu rupiah. (Djakarta News)-Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) is the state radio network of Indonesia. Its headquarters are located in Central Jakarta. RRI was founded on 11 September 1945. It broadcasts on 999kHz,1332kHz, 88.8MHz, 91,2MHz,92,8MHz,105,0MHz in the Jakarta area .

(Djakarta News)-Ada yang bilang Indonesia dijajah budaya Rock n’ Roll (budaya barat)? Ternyata itu “SALAH KAPRAH”! Justru Indonesia yang pertama kali mengenalkan musik Rock’n Roll ke dunia barat. Adalah The Tielman Brothers band asal Indonesia yang di Tahun 1950an cukup terkenal di Eropa terutama Belanda jauh sebelum The Beatles dan The Rolling Stones. Di belanda musik mereka disebut Indorock. Bahkan pada bulan Desember 1949 The Tielman Brothers pernah tampil di Istana Negara Jakarta di hadapan Presiden Soekarno. Namun sayang, nama The Tielman Brothers di Indonesia masih asing saat ini.

Penampilan The Tielman Brothers di panggung pertunjukan selalu menghibur dan atraktif. Mereka selalu tampil memukau dengan memainkan gitar, bass, dan drum, sambil melompat-lompat, berguling-guling. Dengan penampilan seperti itu, sehingga The Tielman Brothers dipercaya lebih dulu memperkenalkan musik beraliran rock’n roll sebelum The Beatles.

Sang gitaris Andy Tielman sering atraktif bermain gitar dan saat itu telah mempopulerkan bermain gitar di belakang kepala, belakang badan, dengan kaki, bahkan dengan gigi jauh sebelum  Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page atau Ritchie Blackmore. Gaya The Tielman Brothers juga diikuti penyanyi Indonesia Rhoma Irama bersama grup Sonetanya.

Perjalanan

Perjalanan The The Tielman Brothers dimulai di Surabaya, di mana 4 bersaudara Tielman kecil dan adik perempuannya Jane mulai tampil bersama pada tahun 1945 membawakan lagu-lagu rakyat dan tarian tradisional. Ayah mereka  bernama Herman Tielman seorang keturunan Maluku asal Kupang, adalah seorang kapten KNIL dan ia tinggal di sebuah kamp konsentrasi Jepang, sedangkan ibunya Flora Lorine Hess keturunan Jerman berasal dari Semarang. Herman memiliki sebuah rumah di Surabaya dan mulai bermain musik bersama dengan teman-temannya.

Herman Tielman adalah seorang musisi berbakat  yang kemampuannya diturumkan ke anak-anaknya, Reggy, Ponthon, Andy, Loulou dan Jane. Dari mulai Ponthon ingin memainkan bas besar, Reggy ingin bermain banjo dan Loulou suka drum, sedangkan Andy belajar bermain gitar. Saat pertunjukan pertama dalam sebuah pesta di rumah mereka, teman-teman ayahnya terkejut setelah melihat mereka membawakan lagu-lagu sulit seperti Tiger Rag dan 12th Street Rag.

Ketika mereka tumbuh dewasa mereka mulai menutupi puncak hits dalam harmoni yang sempurna. Pada tahun 1951, mereka diperkenalkan untuk Guitar Boogie of Arthur Smith. Andy kemudian mengatakan dalam sebuah wawancara: "ini adalah lagu pertama yang saudara-saudara saya dan saya diubah menjadi rock 'n roll dengan menambahkan drum, yang kemudian permainan mereka mulai diikuti oleh Les Paul, Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Bill Haley, Fats Domino, Chuck Berry dan Gene Vincent. Andy juga bermain bersama dengan Dolf de Vries dalam band THE STARLIGHTS di Jakarta. Juga di Sumatera ia bermain tanpa saudara-saudaranya dalam band dari Hawaii Freddy Wehner.
